Dallas RFC Announce New Head Coach – Trevor Rhys Ball

Dallas Reds Rugby Football ClubDallas Rugby Football Club (a/k/a the “Reds”) are pleased to announce that Trevor Rhys Ball (“Ballsy”) will be the Head Coach of the Club’s Division 1 side for the 2015-16 season. Kevin Clark has been promoted to D1 forwards’ coach, and Bruce McGregor will remain on the D1 coaching staff as backs’ coach.

A native of Matamata, New Zealand, Ballsy moved to Dallas and began playing rugby with the Reds in 2000. In his playing days, Ballsy was frequently D1 Captain, and has won more Dallas RFC annual awards for being the toughest player on the pitch than anyone can count. Ballsy succeeds Dean Robinson, who has been on DRFC’s Division 1 coaching staff for three seasons (2012-13 – Head Coach, 2013-14 – Backs Coach, 2014-15 Head Coach). Dallas’ D1 side has made two final-four appearances in the past two seasons, and has an overall record of 25-6-2 during that period of time. As winners of the Red River Rugby Conference D2 title last season, the Club’s Division 2 side also progressed to the USA Rugby Round of 8. Filip Keuppens will remain as Head Coach of DRFC’s Division 2 side for the 2015-16 season.

Founded in 1968, Dallas RFC is a founding member of the Texas Rugby Union and currently competes in USA Rugby’s Division 1 and 2 competitions as part of the Red River Rugby Conference. Dallas RFC’s new officers for the 2015-16 season are: David W. Dodge (President), Jeff Robertson (Treasurer), Joe Kelly (VP), Chis Chefchis (Secretary).
