5/16/16

  • Roll Call (8:05pm)
    • Parker
    • Young
    • Turner
    • Butch
    • Tate
    • Tomsak
  • Follow Ups from last call
  • RRRC Championships wrap up
    • Congratulations to Dallas Reds, Austin Blacks, Austin Valkyries, Little Rock, SHARCs and Euless. USAR information posted https://texasrugbyunion.com/2016/05/12/usa-rugby-club-championships-info-on-rrrc-teams/
    • Tate: A great weekend overall, Tomsak, Parker and Hughes (RRRC) helped us out immensely as they took on team check-ins and #4 on both days.
    • Tomsak: I really enjoyed Saturday and watched on Sunday via the stream. It looked really good, very professional. Overall it was a really professional event.
  • Promotion and Relegation
  • Championship Grants
    • 15s
      • Tate: Proposed via email that we set a minimum of $1400 (28 players x $50). We really want to support our clubs as we want them to be successful in the next round. If they have less than 28 players they don’t get the full award.
        • Email votes – 5/11/16
          • Parker – Yes
          • Tomsak – Yes
          • Corrigan – Yes
          • Tate – Yes
          • James – Yes
            • APPROVED.
    • 7s
      • Tate: Applying the same logic to 7s that would come to 12 players x $50 = $600 as a minimum, more if they have more CIPP’d players.
        • Any objections? None. APPROVED.
          • Tate: We will expect grants for our 7s club representatives after the RRRC 7s concludes. They will be given starting at the above minimum.
      • Texas A&M 7s Grant – USA Rugby Collegiate 7s
        • Tate: Any objections? None. APPROVED.
  • Men’s All Star Uniforms
    • Young: Since we’re planning an event in November but the men don’t currently have a uniform set. I propose that we offer $2000 for the men so they can get a set. It would definitely need to be a shared set where they are checked in and out.
    • Tate: I’m in favor but we need to go back and look at the minutes about what we approved, etc. At this point, this event is going to be in Nov and we won’t have spent any All Star budget yet. It would be carried over to “next year” (budget cycle starts over in Sep with the CIPP cycle).
    • Tomsak: So we can get the uniforms this year and then the budget renews again next year…
    • Tate: Right, yes, let’s not hold up ordering uniforms and then that cost will be added into next year’s budget.
    • Young: If you guys are comfortable, I’d like to take on ordering the kit.
    • Tate: Yes, we know the past sets were an issue and then the players were able to buy kit etc. We don’t want anything like that. It’s going to be a TRU set that will be used over and over. We need to get some decent kit that will last. We will want to make sure that we have our new sponsors on both sets for the men and women. Does anyone have an objection to Wendy running with this? None. APPROVED.
    • Young: Cool, and I’ll make sure that the women’s jerseys get the new sponsors screenprinted on as well.
  • New Business
    • None.
  • Meeting adjourned at 9:13pm
    • Parker: Motion to close.
    • Tomsak: Second.
